Jo Annemans was born on October 15, 1971 in a musical family. He conducted a children's choir and was an active singer in various amateur and semi/professional choirs. On two occasions he tourded with the World Youth Choir.
A little later he left the classical genre and took to singing a more popular form of polyphonic singing. He lent his low voice to the High Priests in the concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar, supported singing actors as boot-singer in the musical Cats and sang several times as one of the backing vocals at the Night of the Proms (with Dani Klein (Vaya Con Dios), Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) and Joe Cocker).

Besides more then 2000 shows in the past 20 years in ao Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Italy, Denmark, Austria, South Africa. they were also the support act for Mariah Carey, and sang a number of duets with national and international Artists (among them Sertab Erener (Turkey) and Amanda Strydom (South Africa).
After his basic musical training, he went on to find his own musical truth in working together with other professional choral musicians. Due to lecturing at (inter)national workshops, and reputation as a vocalist and arranger, he is in great demand as a panel member on the festival circuit, such as the European Festival for Young Musicians (vocal-edition) in Neerpelt, the BALK TOP festival in the Netherlands, and also INTERKULTUR (Canta al Mar (Barcelona) and the World Choir Games)

Jo usually works without any written music or scores. Arrangements are created in his head. In his little home studio he records each voice separately and brings this draft version to rehearsals, allowing the arrangement to grow dynamically as the group works on it.
Only in case of more complex arrangements Jo tends to put them on paper.
Jo has built up a large experience while working together with different conductors. His own passion for singing and his eagerness to inspire and encourage other people have led him to organize workshops on polyphonic singing without scores, and increasing individual responsabilities in group singing.
